This is a stainless steel loose cheek bit that is heavier than most bits.
- It has an upward arching mouth piece that breeds with thick tongues and low palates seem to like.
Roger M. Cleverly, an equestrian trainer from Knightsen, CA. uses this bit on a Welsh cross pony and says:
"This is a shot of me driving my Welsh pony cross gelding, Spunky, at the Horse Wellness Clinic
and Extravaganza at Rancho Murieta, CA. We were giving a presentation on Carriage Driving. If you look closely, I am wearing a wireless microphone. I have found that Welsh ponies, particularly the Section Ds [Welsh Cobs], have quite large tongues in a relatively small mouth, so one has to find a bit with suitable tongue relief to get best results."
Roger adds that he uses this super little pony a lot to teach new folks to drive and this bit gives him some room so that his tongue is not pinched by inexperienced hands!
